Coupon code checklist before placing an order

What to verify when a deal depends on a promo code, clipped coupon, or Subscribe & Save discount.

Confirm the discount appears in cart

A coupon mention on a deal page is not enough. Add the item to cart and make sure the discount is visible before payment. Some coupons only apply to select sellers, colors, sizes, quantities, or account types.

If the merchant shows a higher visible price but a lower final coupon price, compare the final cart total rather than the product page headline.

Watch for subscription mechanics

Subscribe & Save deals can be worthwhile, but the first shipment price, recurring price, cancellation rules, and delivery schedule all matter.

If you only want the first shipment, make sure you understand when the subscription begins and how to cancel it after the order ships.

Check stacking and exclusions

Some codes do not stack with sale prices, cashback portals, store rewards, or other coupons. Others exclude marketplace sellers or open-box inventory.

When a code fails, try the exact product variation shown in the deal and verify that the seller matches the merchant named in the offer.

Put it into practice

Use the checklist above while comparing active ScoredDeals pages. Scores and summaries are starting points; the merchant checkout page should confirm the final price, seller, coupon, shipping, and return details.
